Type 1 Diabetes Clinical Research

Studies are taking place to investigate the potential treatment of type 1 diabetes (T1D) and advance research in this area. Right now, researchers are evaluating multiple investigational approaches that may target the inability to produce insulin. If you are living with T1D, one of these studies may interest you.

Recruiting Studies

VX22-264-101 Study

This study is looking for individuals living with T1D to participate in a clinical research study of an investigational device called VX-264. VX-264 will be surgically implanted behind the muscles of the abdomen. Researchers are studying the safety, tolerability, and effectiveness of VX-264 in individuals with T1D.

VX20-880-101 Study

This study is looking for individuals with severe low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) to participate in a clinical research study of an investigational therapy infused into the liver, called VX-880. These individuals may have blood sugar levels low enough that they are unable to treat it themselves, and they may not feel the low until it is too late to treat themselves. Researchers are studying the safety, tolerability, and effectiveness of VX-880 in such individuals with T1D.
